Vintage Writing 1 Journaling Elements – Free Printable

This post may contain affiliate links. I may receive a commission, at no cost to you, when you choose to use the links provided. See the Disclosure Policy for more information.

Well,  it’s a new month and I’ve got lots of stuff to share.  I hope you all had a great weekend even though we were shaking and rolling quite a bit here in Southern California.  (at least where I live.)  I’d like to welcome all new blog visitors and followers.

I really appreciate all the visits from newcomers and of course, I am always grateful for the “oldies but goodies” that have stuck around since I started actively posting my designs about a year ago.  The time sure has flown by fast!

Speaking of times past, with today’s “vintage writing  journaling cards” freebie I have included several vintage writing images and have blended them with ephemera backgrounds that are free and are made available by Mel at Melstampz.com.

I just love her gift card and other “creative crafty” designs,  the colors she uses and all the other crafting and designing freebies that she makes available on her blog.  The following is an image/print screen of her blog and a sampling of the free papers she provides on Pinterest.

Mel-Stampz website

I used the neutral colors from the background papers and tried to emphasize the hexagon graphic as well as used vintage writing instruments.  I can just say that designing these journaling elements was a lot of fun.

As for the details about today’s freebie, there are 12 elements in all.  You have four journaling cards (3″x4″) and a few more labels, tags and  elements as well.   As always, they can either be used for journaling in your project life projects, smashbooks, art journals or other types of memory keeping and that includes you Filofax/planner fans, as well.

Facts about the freebie:

  • This free printable has 12 elements on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ pdf file.
  • The file size is a little hefty at almost 9MB. (857 KB)
  • These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp with a smooth lay down of the ink color.  The preview pictures both on the blog and on Google are at 72 dpi, so you often can not see all the detail accurately or colors are often distorted.
  • Color scheme: black, white, cream, grey

Thank You  for all your Pinterest and other social media pins…

I’d like to say thanks to all those taking the time to comment, I sure appreciate the gracious “thank yous” and the legitimate “link love”.   I have been nearly overwhelmed with the positive response from blog followers and blog visitors.  My web traffic keeps growing every month.

Thank you for your pins on Pinterest as well as Facebook links.  I also appreciate mentions in your blogs with appropriate link backs and active links.  Many of you have been kind enough to feature some of my designs on your blogs and that has contributed to the increased traffic.

I hope you don’t mind when I check out your Pinterest boards, and repin some of your pins to some of my Pinterest boards, these pins usually provide inspiration for new designs of my own!  You guys and gals often find things I don’t often run into and it just serves to expand and generate new ideas.

As usual these freebies are free for personal use, (check my TOU if you haven’t previously.)  If you have been here before, you know the drill.  If not, you might want to read the quick  TOU below before you access the printable.

Lucky Irish Journaling Elements – Free Printable

Hey, Peeps!  Well, it’s a few days before the official celebration for St. Patrick’s Day, but I imagine this weekend will be filled with holiday celebration and fun leprechaun parties.

So, with the upcoming holiday in mind, I decided to create a project life or pocket scrapbooking freebie with journaling elements  that include iconic Irish images with a vintage twist.

I included a lot of authentic textures and muted green and neutral colors as well and with that…Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Design Inspiration

*A little update*…I have been wanting to do this for a few months now and am so excited to get or make these live samples available.  I had to wait for my tech guru son to hook up the printer to the network ( all my laptop and electronics are on a mini-home network), so that I could really utilize the “print and cut ” feature of my Silhouette Design Studio software.  This is the result!  I still have a few calibration issues I have to resolve with the registration marks, but it is working!

I tried the following samples and finished the details with some original “scherenschnitte”  (I think that’s German for scissor cutting) scissors featured in the picture below and a corner rounder.

Keep in mind, I printed these samples on plain white cardstock.  Just wanted to give you a sample of the 300 dpi print quality. Of course, your results will vary depending on your printer’s ink, the model of the printer and the quality cardstock you use.

As for the details about the freebie, there are four journaling cards and   16 elements in all.  You have four journaling cards (3″ x 4″) and a few more labels, tags and  elements as well.  As always, they can either be used for journaling in your project life projects, smashbooks, art journals or other types of memory keeping.   Hope you like them. 🙂

Facts about the freebie:

  • This free printable has 16 journaling cards and  elements on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ pdf file.
  • File size = 9.07 MB.
  • These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp with a smooth lay down of the ink color.  The preview pictures both on the blog and on Google are at 72 dpi, so you often can not see all the detail accurately or colors are sometimes distorted.
  • Color scheme: green, l. green, buff, tan (photo-realistic paper texture)

Thank you for all your Pinterest and other social media pins…

Shabby Chic Hearts and Roses – Free Printable

With all the freezing weather that most of you are enduring on the East Coast, I was inspired by a Pinterest pin by Free Pretty Things for You,  to create a little bit of a romantic, “springish” design with a paper texture…and voila!,  shabby chic hearts with vintage roses.

Something to look forward to as a tiny ray of sunshine; if not, I hope you are warming up with a hot cup of tea or hot cocoa and a bunch of warm blankets.  ‘Tis the right season!

As you can see with today’s freebie, there are a few elements.  The heart tags or note cards average about 4 inches by 4 inches wide.  I also included two 2.5″ by 3.5″ inch polka dot gift tags.

Hopefully, you will find other uses for these tags for many other projects as well.   I’m thinking smashbooks, art journals, scrapbooking projects  to name a few.  I hope you like them.:)

Facts about the freebie:

  • This free printable was designed on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ pdf file with 6 elements.
  • The file size is less than 3.56 MB.
  • These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp. I have included realistic paper ledger textures for the heart backgrounds.
  • Printing tip:  Print on heavy white cardstock, matte or plain.
  • Color scheme: cream, pink, green, pastel blue

Thank You  for all your Pinterest and other social media pins…

I am so grateful for your interest and pinning activity.  As mentioned in a previous post, although all the final numbers are not in yet,  you made December of 2013 surpass all the previous month’s  traffic numbers.

I’d like to say thanks to all those taking the time to comment, I sure appreciate the gracious “thank yous” and the legitimate “link love” .   I know you don’t always have time to leave a comment because you are busy, so I really appreciate it when blog visitors take the time to either like or comment.

Thank you for your single pins and for some of you,  multiple pins of my various designs on Pinterest as well as Facebook links.  I also appreciate mentions in your blogs with appropriate link backs and active links.

I hope you don’t mind when I check out your Pinterest boards, and repin some of your pins to some of my Pinterest boards, these pins usually provide inspiration for new designs of my own!

As usual these freebies are free for personal use, (check my TOU if you haven’t previously.)  If you have been here before, you know the drill and all this extra content might be a little tiresome (sorry, but we want newcomers to get a hang of what needs to be done to access their freebie!).  If not, you might want to read the quick  TOU below before you access the printable.
