Hello peeps! Well, today I am providing an update on my latest vintage junk journaling mini kit printables! I wanted to help you out with a set of vintage style junk journal white on black labels in a mini kit printable set. You can use these labels to jump start your crafting, art journaling, and/or scrapbooking time with today’s freebie download.
Most of the lovely vintage images are public domain images and come from a wonderful website called Rawpixel, they offer unlimited downloads on public domain images for free with a free sign up to their website. You can download up to five images per day on their other free images. They offer different high quality sizes of these graphics, some at resolutions suitable for professional printing. I like this graphic website because they provide a lot of high quality png files as well as gorgeous vintage and vintage style images.
Many of the vintage style fonts were sourced from another of my favorite graphic design sites, Creative Fabrica.
I didn’t add distressing shades or brushes on the individual images, because what I have seen is that different diy crafters have different preferences to the amount of distressing they prefer on their journal items, I will suggest that you take a look at Tim Holtz, distressing inks, if you are interested in what “distressing” with ink is all about.
Facts about the Vintage Junk Journal Kit Freebie
As for the details about the freebie, there are 16 elements varying from journaling cards, tickets, tabs and a single isolated butterfly image. As always, they can either be used for journaling in your project life projects or other types of memory keeping.
This free junk journaling mini kit includes: 1) a set of white on black written labels on an 5 1/2″ by 1 1/2″ jpeg file. 2) A set of butterfly and postal journaling labels on a 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ jpeg file and 3) the third set of white on black fall script labels in this set. I didn’t bundle these files, so you will have to download them individually. The watermark (if any) will NOT appear on your junk journal page.
These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be clear and sharp. I used my laser printer to get a crisp and dark print on my images. Here they are used in a junk journaling card I created in the image below. The butterfly image came from a great vintage website called, The Art Scavenger.
Latest Vintage Photoshop Junk Journaling Project
I don’t always get a chance to share little tips on what I am working on, I am providing more of these pics on my Facebook and Instagram accounts. I just wanted to show you that using Photoshop CC (there are other Photo editing programs available, of course: but this is my favorite). I usually use pre-designed templates to create my pins. For example, I have included a screenshot for the pin I created for this blog post. It’s just a quick behind the scenes look at the work that I do.
Thanks for Your Social Media Repins
I’d like to say thanks to all those taking the time to comment, I sure appreciate the gracious “thank you’s” and the legitimate “link love”. Thank you for your pins on Pinterest as well as a few Facebook links. I also appreciate mentions in your blogs with appropriate link backs and active links.
My traffic keeps increasing from visitors from all over the world, thank goodness for Google translate! I hope you don’t mind when I check out your Pinterest boards, and repin some of your pins to my boards, these pins usually provide inspiration for new designs of my own!
As usual these freebies are free for personal use, (check my TOU if you haven’t previously.) If you have been here before, you know the drill. If not, you might want to read the quick TOU below before you access the printable.
How to Use these Labels Junk Journal Kit Printables:
There are several ways you can use this printable to create your stickers and I have included a few in the following instructions:
1) The easiest way to use this printout is to print it out on a full sheet of white sticker paper and if you own a Silhouette Cameo or Silhouette Portrait or other digital cutter, such as the Cricut Explore or Maker you can cut out the journal kit using their designer software.
( **Please note: You must have the Silhouette Designer Edition software upgrade to open pdfs in your Silhouette. I also have redesigned the template so that the margins are within the “registration” area of your silhouette. You will have to spend some time creating the cutlines for the silhouette but this should make creating the cutfile a lot easier.) I have provided jpegs to resolve this problem.
2) Also another method, would be to use heavy bond printer paper or you can use 65 lb. white cardstock or heavy white printer paper depending on how thick you want your sticker and then place adhesive via a snail tape runner or with a Xyron sticker tool or machine.
3) Another way, (albeit a little time consuming way) is to print out the planner stickers on sticker paper and “fussy cut” out by hand, I have spaced the elements so that you can use a pair of good craft scissors to get a clean cut and handle the fussy cutting. Another handy tool to have for the straight cuts is a slide or rotary paper trimmer which will reduce cutting around the straight sides of stickers. A gracious reader told me she does her fussy cutting while watching TV! Great tip!

Most of my elements are made from Commercial use or public domain sources. However, if any designer feels their copyright has been infringed upon the freebie will promptly be removed and will no longer be available. Designers vary in their restrictions for their terms of use (even for CU items), so although I try to be scrupulous, I may miss some.
