Blue Grid Journaling Elements – Free Printable

Hello… I hope you had a nice weekend and that you enjoyed the “daily to-do list” I created for many of my Filofax and Smashbook followers a few days ago.  Well, for today I was thinking a lot of the ocean and thought I might design some journaling elements that had a blue color scheme, so this is what I came up with!

This is a slight variation of the black and white whimsical theme I  tend to use  but this time with a variation of blues. I don’t think it had anything to do with my mood but a desire for a cool color scheme.

Facts about the Freebie

As for the details about the freebie, there are 27 elements, varying from journaling cards, to word snippets, date elements, paperclip flags and black chalkboard-like circle labels.  As always, they can either be used for journaling in your project life projects, smashbooks, art journaling or other types of memory keeping.

This free printable has 27 blue grid journaling  elements on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ pdf file.  This freebie’s file size is  rather small at less than 1 MB.  The elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp.

Hello…today’s freebie is a variation on two of my favorite themes, whimsical/doodled style and a black, white, pink and grey color scheme designed as a floral doodled daily to-do list or A5 planner insert.

As for the details about the freebie, this one is completely out of the ordinary since it has to do with organizing and planning more than digital scrapbooking.  However, I got the idea for this to-do list from some of my blog visitors’ Filofax boards that have pins mixing scrapbooking or smashbook goodies with daily planners.

It seems some of my blog visitors find multiple uses for the project life printables I have designed.  Something that hadn’t even come to my mind as a possible use.  Aaaah!….that’s creativity for you!

Facts about the To Do List Freebie

This free printable has been designed as an 8 1/2″ by 11″ pdf file.  The freebie’s file size is  approximately 1.97 MB.  The design layout was  created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp.   While I designed this printable on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ page, I did try scaling it down to 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ to test it out in my planner.

The results were okay if you are able to write small and still be legible, otherwise you are better off using the larger size.  Just a note (just in case you are wondering)…no, I didn’t design the floral doodles, they are part of a commercial use kit.

Doodled Floral Daily To Do List

Update – 10/4/13:

Thanks so much for all the repins of this freebie.  I never expected that I would get so many repins from Filofax and other daily planner aficionados.  So, in order to make your life a little easier, I have gone ahead and taken the To-do list layout and readjusted it at an A5 size, that’s approximately a 5 3/4″ by 8 1/4″ size or it can be used for 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ daily planners.

I did make some changes on the To-do list  though, I added time stamp info for the “Appts & Errands” section and a few more bubbles for vitamins.  The file size is 1.97 MB on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ page, remember   to select “Actual size” on your printer setup instructions in order to get the reduced size.

Update: (1/08/14):

After reviewing the request of one of my blog visitors, the suggestion was brought up if there was a way to print two of the above pages on one 8 1/2″ x 11″ page. While I couldn’t duplicate the A5 size exactly,  by readjusting the calendar by 1/2″, I was able to put two 5″ x 7 1/2″ inch pages of the doodled calendar on an 8 1/2″ x 11″ pdf page.  Make sure you adjust your printer for Landscape view and Actual size.   Hope this satisfies those of you who do not want to waste paper, but have a little flexibility with the page size.

Inspiration:

I keep coming back to this blog post because through your pins and re-pins I have been introduced to a whole new Filofax and/or daily planner section of inspiring ideas and design pursuits.  The blog I found most inspiring (probably because the author shares two of my favorites and that’s chocolate and purple/violet as a favorite color) is My Purpley Life which covers all things Filofax and different color themes for each week.

I have been a Franklin Covey gal for many years, (spent many years in the business world) but hmmm, I am being swayed  and potentially persuaded by the great ideas I have seen on this blog.

I have included a collage of design layouts she regularly features on her blog, many of the items and supplies she uses you probably already have in your project life supplies.  And while I have always used stickers and a few colored pens for my daily planners, I am ready to take it to a whole new level.

Romantic Rose Bookmarks – Free Printable

Hello…I hope you are starting your weekend off great and that you’ll have plenty of time for crafting and other happy pursuits.  As for today’s freebie, I am doing something a little bit different, I have stuck to an ephemera/vintage color scheme and style but this time I designed  romantic rose bookmarks.

I love pretty bookmarks and I have several since I love to read.   I’m excited to add these to my designs and hope you find them functional as well as pretty.

Facts About the Bookmarks

As for the details about the freebie, there are 4 bookmarks that measure approximately 2″ wide by 7″ tall.  As always, they can either be used for journaling in your project life projects, smashbooks, art journaling, junk journaling (as page belly bands!) or other types of memory keeping or just what they were designed for to keep your place in your latest read!

This free printable has 4 elements on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ pdf file.  This freebie’s file size is  rather large at approximately 10.2 MB.  The elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp.  To make them more durable, try laminating them if you own a laminating machine.

Note: The design was laid out on a landscape printer orientation, so please remember to change your printer when you send to print.   The paper textures used (music sheet and dictionary page) were scanned at a very high dpi and the roses are original, clear images of vintage roses.

I also included a damask overlay in the design.  The overlay is more subtle and doesn’t show up as dark as it is in the preview image below.  However, your printing results will vary on the type of printer you use.
