happy planner monthly layout

Hello peeps ! Here we are in the month of June and the summer season has definitely begun!  I thought this cute beach themed paper was a great choice for  this month’s monthly layout in your Classic Happy Planner.

Regardless of the graphics used, the good thing is that there is an undated option, so that you can use the planner stickers for another month if you so choose.  I used this set of beach themed  digital paper  from Creative Fabrica for today’s blog post freebie.  I use a lot of graphics from this site and I’d like to mention in the past few months, they have upgraded their subscription as they work hard to attract great and well known  graphic designers, don’t forget to check them out!

Monthly Layout Planner Stickers Specs

These planner stickers are specifically designed for fans of the Classic Happy Planner  by Mambi or similar Week At A Glance Planners  or other weekly planners such as the  Plum Paper Planner that have wider boxes for the monthly spread.

The functional planner stickers, especially the box stickers,  are sized to fit  within the monthly calendar boxes specifically for the monthly spread of the Classic Happy Planner.

However, there are several resizing instructions on Pinterest on what percent to print this printable  in order to resize the printable for personal planners with smaller dimensions.

Also, if you are new to this site, I wanted to let you know  that I have a board on Pinterest  that  you might want to follow that has several pins (ideas) by other planner designers, stationery, home office decor,  office supplies and planner freebies that are mostly planner related, you can view that board and/or follow here,  Home Office | Planners & Stationery Favs.

There are  more than 90+ planner stickers or  elements total in today’s release.    As always, these stickers and elements  can either be used for journaling in your project life projects, smashbooks, art journals or other types of memory keeping and paper crafting but these were made specifically for you Happy  Planner and Filofax fans.

Note  ***Please see my Terms of Use below before downloading if you have not to been to this site before.***

How to Use this “ Monthly Layout Stickers” Printable:

There are several ways you can use this printable to create your stickers and I have included a few in the following instructions:

1) The easiest way to use this printout  is to print it out on a full sheet of white sticker paper and if you own a Silhouette Cameo or Silhouette Portrait or other digital cutter ( i.e. Cricut Explore), you can cut out the to-do lists or planner stickers using their designer software.  ( I actually now own both machines and each have their pros and cons.  I do believe that Cricut is a little easier to get started with right away if you are a beginner.)

2) Also another method,  would be to use heavy bond printer paper or you can use 65 lb. white cardstock depending on how thick you want your sticker  and then place adhesive via a snail tape runner or with a Xyron sticker tool or machine.

3) The most labor intensive  (or time consuming) way is to print out the planner stickers on sticker paper and “fussy cut” out by hand, I have spaced the elements so that you can use a pair of good craft scissors to get a clean cut and handle the fussy cutting.  Another handy tool to have for the straight cuts is a slide or rotary paper trimmer which will reduce cutting around the stickers.  Reader tip:  Cut them while watching TV.

Facts about the freebie:

  • One  set of HP functional planner stickers on  an 8 1/2″ by 11″ jpg file.   I’ve changed from pdfs to high resolution jpegs in order to keep the file sizes much smaller. (1 MB each or less)
  • These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp with a smooth lay down of the ink color.  The preview pictures both on the blog and on Google are at 72 dpi, so you often can not see all the detail accurately or colors are sometimes fuzzy and distorted.
  • Color scheme:   turquoise, golden yellow, rust red

As usual these freebies are free for personal use, (check my TOU if you haven’t previously.)  If you have been here before, you know the drill.  If not, you might want to read the quick  TOU below before you access the printable.

Doodled Annual Calendar 2023 – Free Printable

This post may contain affiliate links. I may receive a commission, at no cost to you, when you choose to use the links provided. See the Disclosure Policy for more information.

Hello peeps and again Happy New Year!  Today,  I have released a set of doodled annual calendars for 2023, so that you can get ready for all your planning for the upcoming year.

You’ll have two choices to choose from:

1) a doodled annual calendar which is set up with a Sun-through-Sat week and/or

2) a doodled annual calendar that is set up with a  Mon-through-Sun week  and provides the week number.  This was specifically created for Erin Condren and Happy Planner users; however, of course, it can be used as a reference for project life fans as well as regular personal and work planning.

Ideally, you can use your calendar by  referring to  each week during your planning time and planning out your weekly to do’s.  You might have developed the habit of taking at least 20 minutes every Sunday evening to view the week’s upcoming tasks and to do’s on your to-do list for the week.

If not, now’s the time to develop that habit for the new year especially if “being more productive”  or “using my time wisely” will be one of your New Year’s resolutions!

Using your Doodled Annual Calendar

I designed this organization/planner freebie in order to get a bird’s eye view of the year all on one page and decorated it with a variety of doodles. I used a variety of fonts for this layout and decided that a script font for the Month names might be fun!  I purchased these fonts from one of my go-to design and graphic sites Creative Fabrica.  The week format is Sunday through Saturday and the weekends are light grey.  I have provided two doodled annual calendar printables, one regular and one with the week’s number on the left hand side.  You can reduce the printable in order to fit most planners,  if you would like to use them as an insert.

You can use the calendar to refer to as you plan your week or for other purposes.

Planning Your Week

I also designed the following printable to use as a brain dump to provide you a “worksheet” to gather or place all your tasks for the upcoming week.  It’s sort of a pre-planning sheet or a place to list all your “to do’s” and then commit them to a specific day.

It isn’t a necessary step, but I find it helpful to write up all my tasks, then allocate the day of the week I will post them in my planner.  If I don’t get to all of the tasks, at least I can pick from the “top three” tasks for each day and feel I have been productive.

Here’s a sample of that weekly planner page.  You can click on the image to access that printable as well.

Choosing Your Planner

Your planner choice will be  a very personal one ( if you are not using one already) and there are many variables that will contribute to  your decision.  I will go through some of those variables in future posts.  This year I went, I am continuing with my Classic Happy Planner but that doesn’t mean I don’t have additional planners that I would like to share throughout the year.

For your information, since I do provide many of my own Erin Condren printable designs on this blog, I wanted to show you a sample layout for last year’s  “new” redesigned Erin Condren interior pages.   Due to copyright issues, this is just a similar design  of Erin Condren’s “new” redesigned layout but not an exact one.  This gives you an idea  of how one of your pages might be laid out as you list your tasks.  I’ve taken some of the tasks from a winter bucket list, I previously provided.

In addition, I have a board on Pinterest you might want to follow that has several ideas by  other designers for Home Office Planning , stationery and Erin Condren Life Planner, Happy Planner, and other types of planner needs.  You can view that board here, Home Office | Planners & Stationery Favs.

Facts about the Annual Calendar freebie:

  • These free printables were designed on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ pdf file.
  •  File size: 816KB & 1 MB.
  • These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp.
  • Printing tip:   I would adjust the printing quality on your printer in order that you do not get an excessive amount of ink saturation.  Just a tip, if you plan to use regular office paper as this freebie is at 300 dpi and you may need to adjust as you print.
  • Color scheme: black, white, dark grey

A Look Inside the Erin Condren Life Planner – Vertical Layout

This post may contain affiliate links. I may receive a commission, at no cost to you, when you choose to use the links provided. See the Disclosure Policy for more information.

Hello planner peeps!  You know the good feeling when you open a Christmas  or birthday gift and it’s just what you wanted?  Well, that was just about how I felt when this “happy mail” arrived in my mailbox.

Yes, it has arrived…my Erin Condren Life Planner for  2020.

I also received a few extra goodies that Erin Condren graciously included in my delivery.   So, this way I can give you a review of this lovely and colorful planner and share my observations with my readers.

It would be important to mention that the Erin Condren Life Planner comes in a beautifully decorated box, so unwrapping it was kind of fun.  No plain, boring box for Erin Condren!   Too bad, the shipping company plastered it with a bunch of sticky shipping labels.

Planner Review

So, let’s get started…

Three Weekly Layouts to Choose From:

  • Vertical – This is the classic layout that divides the planner into three time blocks for each day.  Erin Condren use to label these but they are now left blank for you to  customize as you please. The headers are about 1/8″  of an inch rather than the 1/4″ they used to be. You  choose  between the colorful layout or a neutral layout.  I chose the colorful layout. You can the customize the planner to your liking or preference.
  • Horizontal – this layout has ruled lines, and shows the week as the name suggests in horizontal blocks.
  • Hourly – this layout is designed with hourly increments, I believe this layout would be awesome for someone who has strict hourly commitments or someone who has several appointments or specific schedule throughout the week within  specific time blocks.

Interchangeable Covers

The Erin Condren Life planner comes with a strong coil and interchangeable covers made with thick mylar.  Of course, you have a huge variety of cover design choices  that you can choose from.

You can choose from beautiful florals to minimalist designs to pictures of your family, it’s really up to you.

Yes, that means once you buy your Erin Condren Life Planner you could exchange your covers with either new ones that you can purchase from Erin Condren’s website or you can DIY your own.   There are so many options to personalize your planner.

Don’t forget you  also can personalize it with your name.  I chose not to for mine.

Either way, you are not permanently stuck with a cover that you might want to change.  I ordered the silver foil floral cover with a platinum coil, although due to the reflection and lighting in my picture  it looks more like gold.  I ordered the Metallic Budding Romance Life Planner which comes in rose gold, gold or silver.

Last year, Erin Condren  released binders that are either softbound and can be carried in a traveler’s notebook type of binder or a new binder cover with rings.  So, now you have even more choices or options on the type of binding you may prefer.

Binding and Paper Quality

In addition, I thought I would mention the great thing about the super strong coils on this planner.  The planner lies flat when you open it and the pages turn smoothly without catching and the coils do not  easily bend or get crushed.

The paper in the planner is very thick and smooth.  The Erin Condren site states it is 80 lbs/ 120 GSM.  Why is this a good thing?  It  allows you to write with a variety of pens without bleed through to the other side.

This is another failing of less expensive planners…they look good but you can’t write in them without smudges, tearing the pages  when you erase your writing or bleeding through when using markers or gel pens.

That’s a feature that seems to happen with more inexpensive planners that you can purchase at  office supply stores or at cheaper box stores.  The planners look beautiful but don’t hold up under daily wear and tear.

What’s Inside the Erin Condren Life Planner

You might be curious about what actually comes in your planner.  The following is a list of the many pages or parts of the planner that are included:

*Year at a Glance pages

*Monthly Blocks to write in birthdays, and anniversary’s , if you choose to do so.

erin condren monthly goals page

*Sturdy monthly tabs

*Monthly goals page after each monthly tab to write in your birds eye view of that specific month’s goals, birthdays and events to remember.

*Weekly pages for each month, here’s where stickers, planner decor and your weekly and daily planning  happens.

The Erin Condren Life Planner is a popular planner for several reasons, with it’s colorful pages, quality materials and construction,  multiple options to personalize to your preferences, lovely design and interior pages with  personal quotes peppered throughout the pages …it’s a clear winner for your personal planning.

Now the ultimate question would be is the Erin Condren Life planner going to organize your life, track your expenses, manage your kids’ activities?

No, not really, that will be depend on your taking action on your tasks and goals.    But it will help  you keep focused, keep all your life’s activities in one place and all those colorful pages will  motivate you to open your planner  day by day to achieve the improvements you want to make in your life.
