Hello peeps, I hope you are having a great week and are getting ready for tomorrow’s big day, Thanksgiving, at least here in the US! As you can see, I am providing a rather unique design for today’s freebie ( a set of Christmas music tags). They are made with original vintage Christmas sheet music ephemera and vintage holiday botanicals.
I really had a lot of fun designing these tags even though finding and collecting the vintage images was a challenge. But it was a challenge I enjoyed, I checked on Pinterest and found a great site for these type of music sheets and liberal download policies. I have included the links for these resources below.
Design Inspiration
The backgrounds were a great find on the interwebs, I went to my favorite place to search for these vintage Christmas music sheets and found this great Pinterest link for “Free Printable Christmas Sheet Music” or this gal’s site at, 25 Free Christmas Sheet Music Printables. There are several popular Christmas songs to choose from. They make great wall art, printables or art journal ephemera.
As for the details about the freebie, there are 9 elements in all. The tags measure approximately 3″ x 4″. The smaller labels/tags are approximately 3″ by 1.5″ wide. I combined a variety of botanical christmas images and vintage textures for these tags. You can see some of my results in the following video.
Although these tags were made specifically as journal bits, as always, they can either be used for journaling in your project life projects, smashbooks, art journals or other types of memory keeping. Or they can be used as gift tags or pocket cards, use your imagination and let your creativity inspire you!Here’s a sample of what these tags look like printed out on white cardstock. You can choose to distress the tags with Tim Holtz’ distress ink (i.e. vintage photo) or tea dye if you prefer.

Facts about the farmhouse freebie:
- This free printable has 9 elements on a letter size page.
- The file size is 3.7 MB.
- These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp. (The preview pictures on the blog and at Google are at 72 dpi, the actual download’s color is actually much smoother and softer.)
- Printing tip: I would advise that you print on heavy white cardstock, plain or matte to use as tags or in cards. You can print on regular copy paper to include as layered tags for your art journals.
- Color theme: cream, black, red, green
