This post may contain affiliate links. I may receive a commission, at no cost to you, when you choose to use the links provided. See the Disclosure Policy for more information.

cricut joy and accessories

Hello peeps. It’s Saturday and as I had mentioned earlier in the week one of my Christmas gift’s came early.  This is the Cricut Joy that I received as an early  Christmas gift from my sister!  I already started using it from the get go but it has taken a little time to figure out the software interface (as it is different from the Silhouette)  and how the bluetooth connection works.  I have several cuts already designed and completed but I wanted to give you an update with pics.

I wanted to make sure you have fun freebies for your Christmas and holiday crafting!  Hopefully,  this set of holiday cut file freebies will help get you ready for some of your last minute holiday crafting.

As mentioned before, My sister surprised me with this early Christmas gift and included some extra accessories in the mix as well .  I have included an image of the unboxing.  I also will be publishing a video of this Cricut Joy in use, where I made these word files with the Cricut.  Just a little reminder that Cricut is having a huge holiday sale on all their machines until December 31, 2022.

What I have been working on…

Unfortunately, different areas of Southern California are on a lockdown due to a rise in respiratory illnesses, again!  However, it as not as severe in the area I live in. In the meantime, this is how I have been taking advantage of indoor time. Of course, I have been depending on online shopping!

Here’s an image of Cricut Design Space and the final cut on a variety of mini envelopes that I created.  I’ll be including the cut files in the future.  I love this font which I found on Creative Fabrica.  The cut file for the word is much bigger than the preview below.

Free Christmas Joy Planner Stickers Weekly Kit – Classic Happy Planner

This post may contain affiliate links. See the Disclosure Policy for more information.

Christmas planner stickers on desktop

Hello peeps…it’s Monday  and here’s another Christmas themed set of  Happy Planner planner stickers (weekly layout) using  digi papers from a lovely, vibrant Christmas  themed pattern set. There are lots of cute Christmas graphics and cute phrases in this set of digital papers.

I love these  paper designs that I often get  at Creative Fabrica, especially these cute digital papers from PoppyMoon Designs.  I have a lot of young Moms and “young” grandmother’s on this blog that plan with their children and grandchildren, so these stickers are for them. On a personal note,    Christmas came early for me as I just received a Cricut “Joy” as a Christmas present from one of my sisters, I was busy  crafting with it all weekend.  So, get ready for new printables coming your way!

Info about the  Classic Happy Planner

Me and my Big Ideas, the manufacturer of the Happy Planner has expanded their interior layouts to weekly, timeline, Memory Keeper and dashboard views.    They come in different sizes; Big, Classic, Mini and Skinny.  They keep updating what they offer every year.

These planner stickers are specifically designed for fans of the “Classic” MAMBI Happy Planner (vertical layout) or similar Week At A Glance Planners or other vertical weekly planners.  If you resize them, of course, you can use them in whatever type of planner you own!  I know I am not.

The functional planner stickers, especially the full box stickers, are sized to fit within the vertical columns and boxes specifically for the Classic Happy Planner.  Keep in mind that the full boxes are now sized at approximately 2.5″ by 1.5″ .

They are  almost 1/2″ taller than your vertical boxes for the Erin Condren Planner (1.9″).  Sometimes the designs can not be scaled down for your Erin Condren, so expect some distortion to occur.  However, you are free to mix and match as you are inspired.

Also, if you are new to this site, I wanted to let you know that I have a board on Pinterest that you might want to follow that has several pins (ideas) by other planner designers, stationery, home office decor, office supplies and planner freebies pins that are mostly planner related.  You can view that board and/or follow here, Home Office | Planners & Stationery Favs.

There are 130+ planner stickers or elements total in today’s release. As always, these stickers and elements can either be used for journaling in your project life projects, smashbooks, art journals or other types of memory keeping and paper crafting but these were made specifically for you Happy Planner and Erin Condren fans.

Note**Please see my Terms of Use below before downloading if you have not to been to this site before.**

How to Use this “Planner Stickers” Printable:

There are several ways you can use this printable to create your stickers and I have included a few in the following instructions:

1) The easiest way to use this printout is to print it out on a full sheet of white sticker paper and if you own a Silhouette Cameo or Silhouette Portrait or other digital cutter, (i.e. Cricut Explore)  you can cut out the to-do lists or planner stickers using their designer software.

2) Also another method, would be to use heavy bond printer paper or you can use 65 lb. white cardstock depending on how thick you want your sticker and then place adhesive via a snail tape runner or with a Xyron sticker tool or machine.

3) The most time consuming way is to print out the planner stickers on sticker paper and “fussy cut” out by hand, I have spaced the elements so that you can use a pair of good craft scissors to get a clean cut and handle the fussy cutting.  In addition, don’t forget a paper trimmer which helps with the straight cuts and makes this task easier.

You should probably use punches for the circle stickers. I try to design the circle stickers at standard punch sizes.  For hand cutting, a new tool I highly recommend is the Gyro-tool.  It’s rotating blade allows you to cut around curvy shapes and is especially good around script stickers.  Reader Tip:  A reader noted that she fussy cuts her stickers while watching TV!

Facts about the freebie:

*A set of 130+ planner stickers on two  8 1/2″ by 11″ jpeg files.

*These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp with a smooth lay down of the ink color. The preview pictures both on the blog and on Google are at 72 dpi, so you often can not see all the detail accurately or colors are sometimes distorted.
*Color scheme:  cranberry red, teal blue, soft pink, green

As usual these freebies are free for personal use, (check my TOU if you haven’t previously.) If you have been here before, you know the drill. If not, you might want to read the quick TOU below before you access the printable.

Vintage Christmas Journaling Tags and Add Ons

Vintage Christmas ephemera Santa printables on desktop

Hello peeps!  It’s Friday and the end of the first week of December !  Today,  I’m providing the add ons for the “Christmas Vintage Paper Textures” set of vintage ephemera journaling paper printables  that I had published a few days ago.

Your enthusiasm motivated me to come up with some new ideas and hopefully these journaling  add ons are great assets to add to your paper stash!  So, I designed… (1) medium tags (2) vintage postcard backs and (3) a mini sheet of Christmas postage stamps.  (Any watermarks are removed in the downloads.).  Let me know what you think about these designs in the comments section below, if you have time.  Your feedback is appreciated.

I designed these images in Photoshop CC which is an awesome photo editing program and can handle these large image files quite easily.  (That’s part of the reason I subscribed to the CC version as soon as I was able.)  Photoshop Elements is great software program to get started with photo editing and great for diy crafting as well but does have some limitations as compared to it’s cousin Photoshop.

Your printing results will vary depending on the type of printer you have, as a general rule the higher the dpi that your printer can  print, the clearer and sharper your images will be.  You can always take them to the nearest Office Depot or Staples (here in the US) to get higher quality printing if you are using these for a special journaling project.

I hope this freebie  inspires you in your crafting, art journaling, junk journaling  and/or scrapbooking time with today’s vintage freebie.

Christmas Vintage Ephemera Journaling Add Ons Design Inspiration

I am totally enjoying designing these projects.  I  am always excited to develop new ideas for tags  and now papers with a vintage ephemera look for either scrapbooking, art journaling, junk journaling and other paper crafting use.  I absolutely love, love these vintage images of Santa Claus or St.  Nicholas and hope you’ll enjoy the tags I designed.   The phrase on the tags is from the famous poem “Twas the Night Before Christmas” A Visit from St. Nicholas by Clement Clarke Moore.  I remember my Kindergarten teacher (who was a very expressive reader) reading this poem out loud and how we were all captivated by the story and her voice!  I know I have my own set of children who follow this blog with their Mom’s or Grandmothers, so here is my rendition of this poem in the video below.  Hope it brings you a little joy or a laugh.

If you are not into junk or art journaling, you can also pop these into the pockets of A5 planners or Traveler’s Notebooks if you enjoy a vintage aesthetic, as I do.

Today’s freebie has a lot of source vintage ephemera images from  vintage Photoshop brushes (many that I am designing),  ledger papers,  vintage Santa images that  I have scanned and other sources of vintage ephemera digital items, some sourced from books published in the 1900s!  Each design requires different Photoshop skill sets, so I enjoy the process and challenge of designing these images, tags and other shapes.  I learned a few new skills with this design.

Facts about the Vintage Ephemera  Journaling Add Ons Freebie

As for the details about the freebie, there are 5 journaling options in this printable.    You can use these elements for journaling in your traveler’s notebook projects, smashbooks, junk journals or other types of memory keeping.  This printable is for diy crafts but, of course, can be used in your journals.

This free printable has 2 journaling printables at 8.5″ by 11″ with assorted add-ons to coordinate or match with the original vintage Christmas  papers I released.   These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be clear and sharp.  They can be used in either the Silhouette Cameo or Cricut digital cutters to cut them out or you can use scissors and a slide cutter.  You don’t absolutely need a digital cutter to print, cut and assemble your projects but they’re great tools!

Color theme: cranberry red and forest green

The materials I used were vintage  ephemera scanned at a very high resolution and other high quality vintage digital resources.

**Please note, although I used  public domain resources to create this design, the design is under my copyright.**

Materials Needed

*White cardstock or white sticker paper, depending on your final use.   Other journaling crafters have mentioned Southworth linen/cotton paper for printing journaling papers to get that almost cloth like texture for your paper.

*Vintage inks, such as Tim Holtz  Distress Inkpads, to give the edges a worn, tinted or aged look, if that is your preference.  This process takes off the white edge (distresses) of the journaling cards and journaling spots, if you are using them for junk journaling and gives the paper a subtle, aged and worn  look.  With these inks you control the amount of tinting and color you prefer on your edges.

*Scissors or slide cutter

*Photo editing software (i.e., Photoshop Elements or Photoshop ) for jpeg files or Silhouette or other digital cutters’ software.

How to Use this Pale Violet Iris Journaling  Papers Printables

  • Print and cut out the papers and use them as add on items  for your junk journals, traveler’s notebooks and other planners.  (Watermark is removed on actual downloads.)
