Free Cut File – New Year Speech Bubbles

Hello, blog visitors and blog followers, today I am creating a new “freebie” category called  “Cut Files – Silhouette Cameo” on this blog where you will find all the freebie cut files I will make available in the future on the right side of the blog page. Today’s freebie is a set of New Year speech bubbles for project life or other pocket scrapbooking use.

Just a little background…some time in the summer,  (I can’t believe it just whizzed by) my darling “young adult” children gifted me with a beautiful Silhouette Cameo for my birthday!

Since then, I have been trying to incorporate some of my blog posts to showcase my new tools but limited time just didn’t enable me to get everything together, as I still needed a few software tools and needed to acquire more skills.

However, since then  I have been compiling various software tools together and getting better at using them so that I can feature a few cut files that you find worthwhile using in your paper crafting. Just so you’ll know,  I even have my own Pinterest board for Silhouette DIY Crafts |“Silhouette Cameo & Cut Files” that has a whole lot of great pins showcasing free cut files from other experienced bloggers and crafters on the ‘net.

Here’s a pic of my fabulous birthday present, still unboxed at the time of the pic and ready for unpacking!  I also later purchased the Silhouetted Designer Edition software in order to open SVG files, a good investment when considering this particular digital cutter.

For your information, I will be including an svg file, (or jpeg file),  a Silhouette Studio file (with most of the files designed on an 8 1/2″ x 11″ format so that you can use the file on both Silhouette machines) and of course, a pdf “Terms of Use” file in zip file format.

This is the cut file I created for your use in your papercraft projects, i.e. scrapbooking, smashbooks, gift cards, etc.  They are three speech bubbles with various New Year’s phrases, they are approximately 3 3/4″ wide and 2 1/2″ tall.   You can see a preview of the SVG file below.  Hope you like them! 🙂

Facts about this freebie ( and future cut file freebies):

  • All files will be delivered in zip format.
  • Files will vary in size depending on the original source files.
  • A TOU will be included in download.
  • Files are saved  and will be accessible from an external site for now, you will see a few ads but you won’t be bombarded with tricky downloads or links, this solution keeps costs low in order to provide the file for free.
  • I will try to include the image file below (the scissors with the words “cut files”) somewhere in the blog post so that you are aware that the download includes a cut file of some kind.  Not all of my freebies will include cut files.
  • I would appreciate any constructive feedback on how these files will work for you, so please share a comment, so that I can tweak the digital cut files that I offer.

Christmas Kraft Journaling Elements – Free Printable

On the tenth day of Christmas… welcome back to project life or pocketbook journaling card freebie’s.  I have been concentrating on a variety of gift tags and I had not yet included a December or Christmas themed project life freebie.  It really is crunch time and I am having to make quick decisions on which remaining designs I want to create on my “inspiration” list.  And can you imagine, this is  already the 10th day of December and the 50th week of 2013!  My Christmas Kraft II gift tags have been really popular, so I tried to include a few Christmas kraft journaling elements from the set in this project life freebie.  I hope you like them! 🙂

As for the details about the freebie, there are 17 elements in all.  You have four journaling cards (3″ x 4″), three  1.5″ circle labels, 5  one inch circle labels and a few more elements as well.  As always, they can either be used for journaling in your project life projects, smashbooks, art journals or other types of memory keeping.

How to Use this “Journaling Cards” Printable:

There are a few ways you can use this printable to create your journaling cards and elements and I have included a few in the following instructions:

  1. The easiest way to use this printable is to print it out on a full sheet of white cardstock and if you own a Silhouette Cameo or Silhouette Portrait or other digital cutter you can cut out the journaling cards and journaling elements using their designer software. ( **Please note: You must have the Silhouette Designer Edition software upgrade to open pdfs in your Silhouette. There are several pdf to jpg converters online if your software just can’t open a pdf. You will have to spend some time creating the cutlines for the silhouette but this should make creating the cutfile and cutting it out a lot easier.)
  2. The most labor intensive (or time consuming) way is to print out the journaling cards or journaling elements on 65 lb. white cardstock and “fussy cut” out by hand, I have spaced the elements so that you can use a pair of good craft scissors or a slide paper trimmer  to get a clean cut and handle the fussy cutting.

Facts about the freebie:

  • This free printable has 17 elements on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ pdf file.
  • The file size is 7.38 MB.
  • These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp with a smooth lay down of the ink color.  The preview pictures both on the blog and on Google are at 72 dpi, so you often can not see all the detail accurately or colors are often distorted. I have included a couple of photo-realistic textures in the paper and brown kraft texture.
  • Color scheme: red, white, brown kraft, cream

Fall Paperie Journaling Elements – Free Printable

Hello…and welcome back to more fall-related freebies. Did I mention  It’s almost Thanksgiving?   Today’s journaling cards freebie is full of autumn colored paper textures for your project life or other types of memory keeping or journaling.

I also used 4 more digital paper textures by SheryK Designs (link below) and am just amazed how many different journaling elements I have been able to create from all the different coordinated designs.  I know I have some blog visitors that love the color orange which is good because it  plays a big role in this freebie’s color scheme.

As for the details about the freebie, there are 18 elements in all.  You have four journaling cards (3″ x 4″), 3 circle labels, 3 word snippets and several elements as well.  As always, they can either be used for journaling in your project life projects, smashbooks, art journals or other types of memory keeping.

  • These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp with a smooth lay down of the ink color.  The preview pictures both on the blog and on Google are at 72 dpi, so you often can not see all the detail accurately or colors are often distorted. I have included a couple of photo-realistic textures in the paper and chalkboard texture.
