Free Digital Embellishments – Gold Vintage Crown Charms

With all the good news about babies and royalty in the news, I thought I would create my own celebration of kings and queens by providing some free vintage crowns.  This is my newest foray into designing realistic looking metal elements and I hoped I accomplished that goal with this set of vintage pressed metal golden charms.

The source for the vintage postcards is from a fabulous collection on Flickr’s Creative Commons section managed by Chicks57.  These were my favorite, but she had several beautiful french vintage postcards of little girls with various shabby chic elements such as roses, wings, decorative props, and so forth.

As for the color scheme, I went for pink and gold, another of my color favorites.  So this time, I am including three vintage metal crowns.  They are approximately 1″ to 1.5″ large and have been designed at 300 dpi.    All my elements are saved at this high resolution, and stored on my Photobucket account,  images on my blog are usually at 72dpi to 100 dpi resolution.  I’m sorry for making you go through the extra work to examine the items; however, I am trying to discourage copying of my images without credit due.

Some things you should know before downloading…

Note About TOU:

As usual these are free for personal use, (check my TOU if you haven’t previously.) If you have been here before, you know the drill.  If not, you might want to read the quick TOU before you access the printable.

*Vintage Glam Collectibles or Vintage Glam Studio digital resources are for PERSONAL USE ONLY.
*You may not re-sell, redistribute, or claim them as your own.
*Please do not remove the watermark or modify the design in any way.

*Copyright remains with Vintage Glam Studio – Dru Cortez
*If you post this on the internet, please give credit to  Vintage Glam Collectibles & link back to my blog.

Details About the images:

*All images are made at 300 dpi so the digital files will usually be very large.  Make sure that your computer or laptop can handle the download.  In the future, I will be placing the images in .zip folders but they will usually still be large files as high res 300 dpi files usually are pretty huge.

*Most images will be .png files (transparent backgrounds) so that you can layer them on to your scrapbooking backgrounds or photos.

*Most elements will not include a drop shadow, as I will leave that up to you to add one if you like.  Drop shadows are usually included in the top layers of layered elements.  However, bottom layer shadows are included only in the preview images.

*I will be providing these elements with the assumption that you know how to use either Photoshop Elements, the open source photo editing program GIMP, Photoshop, or other photo editing software.  While I would like to offer support for these digital files, this is currently just a hobby and not my full time business.

*Most of my elements will be made from purchased commercial use or public domain resources, however if any designer feels their copyright has been infringed upon the freebie will promptly be removed and the freebie will no longer be available.  (I try to be scrupulous about what resources I use, but I may miss some.)

Whimsical Project Life Journaling Cards – Free Printable

One of my favorite things about summer is the abundance of strawberries.  Here in Southern California, there are plenty of roadside farmer’s markets selling big, juicy strawberries as well as other summer fruits.

And I have been taking advantage of all that delicious bounty as much as I can.  I guess all those dreams and strawberry picking, contributed to today’s  journaling cards freebie printable  which is geared for a “girly” project life or other type of scrapbooking layout.

I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist the whimsical fairy and the color scheme that is so reminiscent of the now vintage (and collectible I might add) “Strawberry Shortcake”, hopefully without overdoing the theme and the color scheme.  I tried to keep it simple and concentrated on small details.

Facts about the Freebie

Back to the freebie, there are four journaling cards plus a few elements and they can either be used for journaling in your project life projects or other type of memory keeping.   This free printable has 12 elements on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ pdf file.  The file size is about 3.42 MB.  They were created at 300 dpi and I designed most of the clip art and other elements other than the fairy which was designed by a talented designer named Pathy Santos.  I’m still trying to perfect my doodles.

New Project Life Printables

Interestingly enough, as I post this, Becky Higgins (the original creator of Project Life) has just revealed that they are now providing a digital shop for her resources.  And for those, who don’t know how to use Photoshop Elements, or other photo editing software, she is making her resources available on….you guessed it– .pdf downloads.  The new site is called “Digital Project Life“, you can read all about it on her blog on the link provided.

(Update: Just to clarify…I included the news about Becky Higgins and her blog above because the news was so hot off the press.  If you have a Pinterest account, you probably have noticed that there are many traditional, digital and hybrid scrapbooker’s boards that include several printable pocketbook or “Project Life” downloads created by different designers.

I was merely commenting on her company setting up a digital scrapbooking resource wing for all the fans of her “Project Life” materials.  I just want to make it clear and not imply that she is endorsing me or any of my work in any way, I was merely providing information to my readers that are already beginning or attempting to begin to do their own digital journey in the world of digital scrapbooking and using those skills and materials on their traditional tangible, physical scrapbooking layouts.)

Thanks for your Pinterest repins and Social Media mentions…

Thanks for all those taking the time to comment, I sure appreciate the gracious thank yous and the legitimate “link love”.  I am honored to be part of your re-pins on your Pinterest boards in the ranks with other much more established designers.  I just can’t thank you enough! If you can take time out of your busy day, I appreciate your constructive feedback.

As usual these  journaling cards freebie is  free for personal use, (check my TOU if you haven’t previously.) If you have been here before, you know the drill.  If not, you might want to read the quick TOU before you access the printable.

Some things you should know before downloading:

* Vintage Glam Studio printables (formerly under the name Vintage Glam Collectibles) are for PERSONAL USE ONLY. (I own the domains for both names and will be dedicating this blog to more design related articles and printables.)
*You may not re-sell, redistribute, or claim the original or derivative designs as your own.
*Please do not remove the watermark or modify the design in any way other than for your own Personal use.
*If you post this on the internet, please give credit to Vintage Glam Studio & link back to my blog, so others can obtain the resources.  Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook are great social media sharing platforms, it’s the  sharing without a link back that can be a problem.

Most of my elements are made from Commercial use or public domain sources, however if any designer feels their copyright has been infringed upon the freebie will promptly be removed and the freebie will no longer be available.  Designers vary in their restrictions for their terms of use (even for CU items), so although I try to be scrupulous, I may miss some.

Free Digital Embellishments – Shabby Chic Brads

Well, the week has flown by, and the weekend is rolling in… I hope you find some time for crafting ( of all kinds) and time for your family and other pursuits. Yes, it’s shabby chic time again.  I am  back to a vintage-y, shabby chic theme, the tried and true seafoam green, shabby chic pink and peach color scheme.

I also have a few other color schemes in mind but if you are asking why I have been sticking to this one…is there a method to my madness?  Yes, there is because if you come back each time, you will pretty much be able to collect a coordinated mini kit!

So, as before with  this color scheme  there are so many variations and patterns to work with and it gives me a chance to try out a few different designing techniques.  So this time, I am including a couple of  1.5″ brads and three pieces (approximately 3.5″ wide and .75″ tall) of shabby chic washi tape at 80% opacity.  All these elements were created at a high resolution of 300 dpi.

If you have visited this blog before you will know that, I really like paper crafts with a vintage or retro theme .  Although, I often create whimsical elements as well.
