Retro Kitchen Labels – Free Printable

This post may contain affiliate links. I may receive a commission, at no cost to you, when you choose to use the links provided. See the Disclosure Policy for more information.

I’m sure the weekend is going to be a busy one, but nevertheless I came up with this design for today.  I really should stay away from Pinterest,  just when I think I am plum out of  ideas for the week …there you go, I get a new idea!   I must be thinking about food gifts, or the board I have specifically for food packaging  called DIY Crafts | Food Gifts and Packaging on Pinterest.  I changed the color scheme for this design to a vibrant turquoise and red!

As for the details about today’s freebie,  you get 8 retro kitchen labels at (3″ x2″)  .  I designed the freebie with a retro feel.  Also, there is  plenty of room for you to get in and around the labels to cut them out .  I think some rounded edges on these might look great.

Facts about the freebie:

  •  8 kitchen labels on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ pdf file.
  • File size is 3.64 MB.
  • These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp with a smooth lay down of the ink color.  The preview pictures both on the blog and on Google are at 72 dpi, so you often can not see all the detail accurately or colors are often distorted.
  • Color scheme:  turquoise, red

How to Use this “Journaling Cards” Printable:

There are a few ways you can use this printable to create your journaling cards and elements and I have included a few tips in the following instructions:

  1. The easiest way to use this printable is to print it out on a full sheet of white cardstock and if you own a Silhouette Portrait or a Silhouette Cameo or other digital cutter you can cut out the journaling cards and journaling elements using their designer software. ( **Please note: You must have the Silhouette Designer Edition software upgrade to open pdfs in your Silhouette.) There are several pdf to jpg converters online if your software just can’t open a pdf. You will have to spend some time creating the cutlines for the silhouette but this should make creating the cutfile and cutting it out a lot easier.
  2. The most labor intensive (or time consuming) way is to print out the journaling cards or journaling elements on 65 lb. white cardstock and “fussy cut” out by hand, I have spaced the elements so that you can use a pair of good craft scissors or a slide paper trimmer or gyro tool to get a clean cut and handle the fussy cutting.

Thank you  for all your Pinterest and other social media pins…

I’d like to say thanks to all those taking the time to comment, I sure appreciate the gracious “thank yous” and the legitimate “link love”. I just would love it if you check out my Instagram and follow or like the pics.

Thank you for your pins on Pinterest as well as Facebook links.  I also appreciate mentions in your blogs with appropriate link backs and active links.  Many of you have been kind enough to feature some of my designs on your blogs and that has contributed to the increased traffic.

I hope you don’t mind when I check out your Pinterest boards, and repin some of your pins to some of my Pinterest boards, these pins usually provide inspiration for new designs of my own!  You guys and gals often find things I don’t often run into and it just serves to expand and generate new ideas.

 Terms of Use:

As usual these freebies are free for personal use, (check my TOU if you haven’t previously.)  If you have been here before, you know the drill.  If not, you might want to read the quick  TOU below before you access the printable.

Free Silhouette Cut File – Polaroid Frames

cut-files-polaroid-frames-header Hello peeps!  So, today I decided to release a long promised cut file.  I think the last one I released was at the beginning of the new year!  Wow,  I can’t believe that three months (the first quarter of the year) have flown by so fast and I haven’t yet started releasing all the ideas I have on my to do list! Tsk, Tsk…anyway, I hope you like what I have created today and any constructive feedback will be appreciated.

Just so you’ll know,  I even have my own Pinterest board for Silhouette DIY Crafts |“Silhouette Cameo & Cut Files” that has a whole lot of great pins showcasing free cut files from other experienced bloggers and crafters on the ‘net.  There are pins of really sophisticated designs on my board as well as basic ones and new pins for the new release of Silhouette Designer Studio ( which brings designing cut files to a whole new level).

For your information, I will be including an svg file, png files,  a Silhouette Studio file with most of the files designed on an 8 1/2″ x 11″ format so that you can use the file on most printers and of course, a pdf “Terms of Use” file in zip file format.

This is the cut file I created for your use in your papercraft projects, i.e. scrapbooking, smashbooks, gift cards, etc.    Both of these frames are created for project life journaling and are sized about 1/16″ of inch smaller on both sides of the frame in order to slip easier into the pocket sleeves of your binder. Or, you can use them in other papercrafting projects.   Hope you like them! 🙂

Facts about this freebie :

  • 2 cut files on 8 1/2″ x 11″ format using Silhouette Designer Studio.
  • All files will be delivered in zip format.
  • Files will vary in size depending on the original source files.  This whole zip file is less than 500 kb.
  • A TOU will be included in download.
  • Files are saved  and will be accessible from an external site for now.
  • I will try to include an image file that includes (the scissors with the words “cut files”) somewhere in the blog post so that you are aware that the download includes a cut file of some kind.  Not all of my freebies will include cut files.
  • I would appreciate any constructive feedback on how these files will work for you, so please share a comment, so that I can tweak the digital cut files that I offer.

My expression of gratitude for all your Pinterest and other social media pins…

I’d like to say thanks to all those taking the time to comment, I sure appreciate the gracious “thank yous” and the legitimate “link love” and all the kind comments from people around the world.   I have been nearly overwhelmed with the positive response from blog followers and blog visitors.  You keep surprising me, just when I think the number of visitors hits a cap, the number of viewers increases.  It’s just awesome!
