Retro Kitchen Labels – Free Printable

This post may contain affiliate links. I may receive a commission, at no cost to you, when you choose to use the links provided. See the Disclosure Policy for more information.

I’m sure the weekend is going to be a busy one, but nevertheless I came up with this design for today.  I really should stay away from Pinterest,  just when I think I am plum out of  ideas for the week …there you go, I get a new idea!   I must be thinking about food gifts, or the board I have specifically for food packaging  called DIY Crafts | Food Gifts and Packaging on Pinterest.  I changed the color scheme for this design to a vibrant turquoise and red!

As for the details about today’s freebie,  you get 8 retro kitchen labels at (3″ x2″)  .  I designed the freebie with a retro feel.  Also, there is  plenty of room for you to get in and around the labels to cut them out .  I think some rounded edges on these might look great.

Facts about the freebie:

  •  8 kitchen labels on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ pdf file.
  • File size is 3.64 MB.
  • These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp with a smooth lay down of the ink color.  The preview pictures both on the blog and on Google are at 72 dpi, so you often can not see all the detail accurately or colors are often distorted.
  • Color scheme:  turquoise, red

How to Use this “Journaling Cards” Printable:

There are a few ways you can use this printable to create your journaling cards and elements and I have included a few tips in the following instructions:

  1. The easiest way to use this printable is to print it out on a full sheet of white cardstock and if you own a Silhouette Portrait or a Silhouette Cameo or other digital cutter you can cut out the journaling cards and journaling elements using their designer software. ( **Please note: You must have the Silhouette Designer Edition software upgrade to open pdfs in your Silhouette.) There are several pdf to jpg converters online if your software just can’t open a pdf. You will have to spend some time creating the cutlines for the silhouette but this should make creating the cutfile and cutting it out a lot easier.
  2. The most labor intensive (or time consuming) way is to print out the journaling cards or journaling elements on 65 lb. white cardstock and “fussy cut” out by hand, I have spaced the elements so that you can use a pair of good craft scissors or a slide paper trimmer or gyro tool to get a clean cut and handle the fussy cutting.

Thank you  for all your Pinterest and other social media pins…

I’d like to say thanks to all those taking the time to comment, I sure appreciate the gracious “thank yous” and the legitimate “link love”. I just would love it if you check out my Instagram and follow or like the pics.

Thank you for your pins on Pinterest as well as Facebook links.  I also appreciate mentions in your blogs with appropriate link backs and active links.  Many of you have been kind enough to feature some of my designs on your blogs and that has contributed to the increased traffic.

I hope you don’t mind when I check out your Pinterest boards, and repin some of your pins to some of my Pinterest boards, these pins usually provide inspiration for new designs of my own!  You guys and gals often find things I don’t often run into and it just serves to expand and generate new ideas.

Video Sneak Preview of Free Vintage Postage Printable

video sneak preview

Hi, peeps.  The weather is warming up and things are getting pretty hectic in my tiny, studio.  Today,  I have posted  my first video sneak preview on my Youtube Channel so that you can get an idea of  a design I have been working on and will be releasing as a freebie soon.  I also have included a few of the images of my completed design on my Instagram.

So, if you are a frequent blog visitor and you’re wondering where that design is…this is just a quick one minute video to give you an idea about the details of that freebie.

Sometimes you’ll see images on my Instagram that are not available on the blog.   Well, that’s because some of those images include ideas that I’m working on or developing.

As for the vids, I have had this Youtube Channel for awhile now but I used it mostly to gather all the great videos or vid tutorials made by other crafters and hobbyists.  I had compiled quite a few in my playlists.  However, now I  am getting more ideas  (the video sneak preview, for one) as to how to use this channel to give you an idea of my work process or information that I want to relay that will be interesting to you that do somehow seem to be relayed a bit better via video and not just words. Sometimes I just have ideas that are in the pipeline and haven’t either had the time or didn’t think there would be any interest at the moment.

I hope you are as excited as I am with these vids and you will get an idea of my work process and some of the other things going on on my blog .  Thanks for stopping by!

Floral Watercolor Bookmarks – Free Printable

Hello, blog visitors and followers. Well, we are now into May and the big day for Mom’s draws nearer!   I have a freebie today  that reflects a floral design and soft, spring  color palette.

I have been “playing” with a faux watercolor technique for a  while and thought that Mother’s Day is an appropriate time to provide a freebie with such pretty and happy colors. I also love the quote.

As for the details about today’s freebie,  you get 4 bookmarks at (7″x 2″)  .  I designed the freebie with a little bleed area between the outer dashed line and the bookmark to make it easier to cut.   This freebie is for all Mom’s that love to read and could be appropriate with a reading gift!

Facts about the freebie:

  •  4 bookmarks on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ pdf file.
  • File size is 2.39 MB.
  • These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp with a smooth lay down of the ink color.  The preview pictures both on the blog and on Google are at 72 dpi, so you often can not see all the detail accurately or colors are often distorted.
  • Color scheme:  soft green, pink
