Whimsical Journaling Cards – Free Printable

This post may contain affiliate links. I may receive a commission, at no cost to you, when you choose to use the links provided. See the Disclosure Policy for more information.

It’s time for a new freebie!  This time I used a black, white and red  color scheme and loaded it with 4  whimsical journaling cards and other elements–a total of 12 elements on an 8 1/2 by 11″ page.

It’s a pdf file and was created at 300 dpi. It kind of has a doodled effect to the design which was what I was aiming for when I first stumbled onto the design idea.

The lines on the journaling cards are not perfectly aligned, I was aiming for whimsical and not the typical ocd linear inclination I tend to have. ( I was thrilled to be able to actually design the ladybug myself, since I am constantly trying to improve my design skills.)

Shabby Chic Journaling Elements – Free Printable

This post may contain affiliate links. I may receive a commission, at no cost to you, when you choose to use the links provided. See the Disclosure Policy for more information.

Here’s another freebie!  This freebie”Shabby Chic Journaling Elements” blends a lot of shabby chic design elements such as roses,  soft colors of teal blue and pink  and  other floral patterns in  a great printout to honor all of our great Moms!

As usual these are free for personal use, (check my TOU if you haven’t previously.)   In the future, you will notice that my freebie design images will follow these themes:  vintage, retro/minimalist  and whimsical.

How to Use this “Journaling Cards” Printable:

There are a few ways you can use this printable to create your journaling cards and elements and I have included a few in the following instructions:

  1. The easiest way to use this printable is to print it out on a full sheet of white cardstock and if you own a Silhouette Cameo or Silhouette Portrait or other digital cutter you can cut out the journaling cards and journaling elements using their designer software. ( **Please note: You must have the Silhouette Designer Edition software upgrade to open pdfs in your Silhouette. There are several pdf to jpg converters online if your software just can’t open a pdf. You will have to spend some time creating the cutlines for the silhouette but this should make creating the cutfile and cutting it out a lot easier.)
  2. The most labor intensive (or time consuming) way is to print out the journaling cards or journaling elements on 65 lb. white cardstock and “fussy cut” out by hand, I have spaced the elements so that you can use a pair of good craft scissors or a slide paper trimmer  to get a clean cut and handle the fussy cutting.

Update:

Do you have a lousy printer that can’t print high resolution printables?  In the following video tutorial, which was posted on Youtube’s channel owner MichLxo, the crafter gives great information as to how your nearest Staples can be a great resource as a quality and low cost printer for free color printables.  Her video showcases (your’s truly’s) printable as well as other free printables by other websites and designers.

Most of my elements are made from commercial use or public domain sources, however if any designer feels their copyright has been infringed upon the freebie will promptly be removed and the freebie will no longer be available.  Designers vary in their restrictions for their terms of use (even for CU items), so although I try to be scrupulous, I may miss some.

The background digital paper used for this freebie are the Kath Floral background papers and can be obtained from Mel’s Brushes.

Spring Journaling Cards – Free Printable

Just wanted to share a freebie with you that included spring themed journaling cards, especially if you are a Project Life scrapbooking fan.

What is Project Life?  In short,  It was developed by Becky Higgins and  is a “pocket styled book” form of memory keeping.

Basically you start with an album,  pocket pages in which you can insert different cards, journal cards, memorabilia, and photos. All these elements make up your layout as opposed to more traditional scrapbooking methods.

The journaling cards and elements can be used in regular scrapbooking, but I have sized the journaling cards with Project Life in mind.  (There are 12 scrapbooking elements in all).

Just a reminder, please abide by the  terms of use (TOU), I have listed above.  These journaling cards and tags are for personal use only.

Also when printing, the pdf sheet should print out at 8 1/2″ by 11″. Depending on how your printer handles pdfs, there may be some adjustments you might have to make.   Be sure to check your printer adjustments accordingly.

Update:  I have revised the pdf layout for this freebie.  I resolved the distortion problem it seemed to be having, especially when it came time to print.  The page now prints correctly on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ page. Thanks!
