junk journal kit on desktop

Hello peeps! Well, I really have something very different for you today!  I have been watching several Youtube vids on junk journaling and that inspired me to try my hand at this project.   I wanted to help you out a little with a vintage ephemera junk journal mini kit printables to  jump start  your crafting, art journaling,  and/or scrapbooking time with today’s freebie download.

I  have been wanting  to create  this type of freebie with the  vintage ephemera  and vintage Photoshop brushes that I own and already have in my stash.

Today’s freebie was created from a variety of vintage ephemera-some made into Photoshop brushes and other’s are just png files of these images  sourced from vintage paper items scanned at a high dpi. I made these with the color theme used by many of  Tim Holtz’ vintage Idea-ology products.  Of course, this is my first go round with this product, so on to giving you the info as to what you are getting in this freebie.  I didn’t add distressing shades or brushes, because what I have seen different diy crafters have different preferences to the amount of distressing they prefer on their journal, I will suggest that you take a look at Tim Holz distressing inks, if you are interested in what “distressing” is all about.

Facts about the Vintage Junk Journal Kit Freebie

As for the details about the freebie, there are 20+ elements varying from tabs, pocket cards, quotes and an 8 1/2 by 11 journaling page..  As always, they can either be used for journaling in your project life projects or other types of memory keeping.

This free printable has 1)  a junk journal page  on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ jpeg file.   2) A set of journaling tags on a 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ jpeg file.  3) Foldable pockets and tabs on an 5.5″ by 8 1/2″ jpeg file.  And 4) Ten quotes, Shakespearean quotes, (can you guess which is not written by Shakespeare? Note: Answer in the Image Credit notes below, in case you are curious) on an a  5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ jpeg file.  I didn’t bundle these files, so you will have to download them individually.  The watermark will NOT appear on your junk  journal page.

These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be clear and sharp.

The materials I used were all vintage ephemera scanned at a very high resolution.  Hopefully, you own a modern computer and internet connection that can make the download easier for you.  Enjoy!

Thanks for Your Social Media Repins

I’d like to say thanks to all those taking the time to comment, I sure appreciate the gracious “thank you’s” and the legitimate “link love”.  Thank you for your pins on Pinterest as well as a few Facebook links.  I also appreciate mentions in your blogs with appropriate link backs and active links.

My traffic keeps increasing from visitors from all over the world, thank goodness for Google translate!  I hope you don’t mind when I check out your Pinterest boards, and repin some of your pins to my boards, these pins usually provide inspiration for new designs of my own!

As usual these freebies are free for personal use, (check my TOU if you haven’t previously.)  If you have been here before, you know the drill.  If not, you might want to read the quick  TOU below before you access the printable.

How to Use these Junk Journal Kit Printables:

There are several ways you can use this printable to create your stickers and I have included a few in the following instructions:

1) The easiest way to use this printout  is to print it out on a full sheet of white sticker paper and if you own a Silhouette Cameo or Silhouette Portrait or other digital cutter, such as the Cricut Explore or Maker  you can cut out the  journal kit using their designer software.

( **Please note:  You must have the Silhouette Designer Edition software upgrade to open pdfs in your Silhouette. I also have redesigned the template so that the margins are within the “registration” area of your silhouette.   You will have to spend some time creating the cutlines for the silhouette  but this should make creating the cutfile a lot easier.) I have provided jpegs to resolve this problem.

2) Also another method,  would be to use heavy bond printer paper or you can use 65 lb. white cardstock or heavy white printer paper  depending on how thick you want your sticker  and then place adhesive via a snail tape runner or with a Xyron sticker tool or machine.

3) Another way, (albeit a little time consuming way) is to print out the planner stickers on sticker paper and “fussy cut” out by hand, I have spaced the elements so that you can use a pair of good craft scissors to get a clean cut and handle the fussy cutting.  Another handy tool to have for the straight cuts is a slide or rotary paper trimmer which will reduce cutting around the straight sides of stickers.

Retro 90s Weekly Planner Stickers Printable – Classic Happy Planner

This post may contain affiliate links. See the Disclosure Policy for more information.

Retro 90s planner stickers on desktop

Hello peeps…it’s Monday and I thought I would  follow up with this set of  Happy Planner planner stickers (weekly layout) using  digi papers from this bright Retro 90s/00s  set. This pattern reminds me of the Lisa Frank stickers I used to buy for my daughter. (lol)

I missed last week in providing a set of Happy Planner planner stickers, so here is this edition with a redesigned “weekend” font sticker and the side panel font has been changed as well.  I also did a few tweaks to the sizes of smaller stickers and checklist stickers as well.

Also, I wanted to provide another retro themed and lovely color planner stickers set for the  Classic Happy Planner.  I also included a half letter size ( 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″) page of coordinating extra shape stickers.

Info about the  Classic Happy Planner

Me and my Big Ideas, the manufacturer of the Happy Planner has expanded their interior layouts to weekly, timeline, Memory Keeper and dashboard views.    They come in different sizes; Big, Classic, Mini and Skinny.

These planner stickers are specifically designed for fans of the “Classic” MAMBI Happy Planner (vertical layout) or similar Week At A Glance Planners or other vertical weekly planners.  Of course, you can use them in whatever type of planner you own!

The functional planner stickers, especially the full box stickers, are sized to fit within the vertical columns and boxes specifically for the Classic Happy Planner.  Keep in mind that the full boxes are now sized at approximately 2.5″ by 1.5″ .

They are  almost 1/2″ taller than your vertical boxes for the Erin Condren Planner (1.9″).  Sometimes the designs can not be scaled down for your Erin Condren, so expect some distortion to occur.  However, you are free to mix and match as you are inspired.

Also, if you are new to this site, I wanted to let you know that I have a board on Pinterest that you might want to follow that has several pins (ideas) by other planner designers, stationery, home office decor, office supplies and planner freebies pins that are mostly planner related.  You can view that board and/or follow here, Home Office | Planners & Stationery Favs.

There are 130+ planner stickers or elements total in today’s release. As always, these stickers and elements can either be used for journaling in your project life projects, smashbooks, art journals or other types of memory keeping and papercrafting but these were made specifically for you Happy Planner and Erin Condren fans.

Note**Please see my Terms of Use below before downloading if you have not to been to this site before.**

How to Use this “Planner Stickers” Printable:

There are several ways you can use this printable to create your stickers and I have included a few in the following instructions:

1) The easiest way to use this printout is to print it out on a full sheet of white sticker paper and if you own a Silhouette Cameo or Silhouette Portrait or other digital cutter, (i.e. Cricut Explore)  you can cut out the to-do lists or planner stickers using their designer software.

2) Also another method, would be to use heavy bond printer paper or you can use 65 lb. white cardstock depending on how thick you want your sticker and then place adhesive via a snail tape runner or with a Xyron sticker tool or machine.

3) The most time consuming way is to print out the planner stickers on sticker paper and “fussy cut” out by hand, I have spaced the elements so that you can use a pair of good craft scissors to get a clean cut and handle the fussy cutting.  In addition, don’t forget a paper trimmer which helps with the straight cuts. You should probably use punches for the circle stickers. I try to design the circle stickers at standard punch sizes.  For hand cutting, a new tool I highly recommend is the Gyro-tool.  It’s rotating blade allows you to cut around curvy shapes and is especially good around script stickers.  Reader Tip:  A reader noted that she fussy cuts her stickers while watching TV!  (Clever idea.)

Facts about the freebie:

*A set of 130+ planner stickers on two  8 1/2″ by 11″ jpeg files.
*These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp with a smooth lay down of the ink color. The preview pictures both on the blog and on Google are at 72 dpi, so you often can not see all the detail accurately or colors are sometimes distorted.
*Color scheme:  light pink, hot pink, violet, golden yellow

As usual these freebies are free for personal use, (check my TOU if you haven’t previously.) If you have been here before, you know the drill. If not, you might want to read the quick TOU below before you access the printable.

Free Vintage Farmhouse Journal Bits and Labels

This post may contain affiliate links. I may receive a commission, at no cost to you, when you choose to use the links provided. See the Disclosure Policy for more information.

vintage farmhouse labels

Hello, I hope you are all doing fine mid-week and are looking forward to a great weekend.  As you can see, today’s freebie ( a set of farm tags and vintage labels)  is made with  vintage farm ephemera and a chicken theme and my favorite, red, cream and black color scheme.

I really had a lot of fun  designing these tags even though finding and collecting the vintage images was a a challenge.

Design Inspiration

The background was a great find on the interwebs,  where I found a vintage farm almanac page from the turn of the century, including vintage poultry ads.  I love the color red for these type of labels, I guess it might be influenced by the red embroidery work I used to watch my Mom make for kitchen towels.  According to Wikipedia, here’s a fun fact!  “Redwork is a form of American embroidery, also called art needlework, that developed in the 19th century and was particularly popular between 1855 and 1925.  It traditionally used red thread, chosen because red dyes were the first commercially available colorfast dyes, in the form of  Turkey red embroidery floss.”

As for the details about the freebie, there are 28 elements in all.  The tags measure approximately 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″   and the  red gingham labels are approximately 2.5″ x 1″.  I used an actual  vintage paper label  for the red gingham  labels.

Although these tags were made specifically as journal bits, as always, they can either be used for journaling in your project life projects, smashbooks, art journals or other types of memory keeping.

They can also be used in your kitchen/ household labeling.

Facts about the farmhouse freebie:

  • This free printable has 28 elements on two  5 1/2″ by 8.5″ jpeg files. (Half US letter)
  • The file size is 3.4 MB. Second pdf file is 2.2MB.
  • These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp. (The preview pictures on the blog and at Google are at 72 dpi, the actual download’s color is actually much smoother and softer.)
  • Printing tip:   I would advise that you print on heavy white cardstock, plain or matte to use as die cuts or white sticker paper to use the labels as stickers.
  • Color theme: red, cream, black

Thank you for all your Pinterest and other social media pins…
