Pale Violet Iris Journaling Papers Add Ons

tags printable on desktop

Hello peeps!  It’s Friday and the end of the work week (well, for some folks)!  Today,  I’m providing the add ons for the “Pale Violet Iris” set of vintage ephemera journaling papers printables  that I had hinted about in a recent post.

Your enthusiasm motivated me to come up with some new ideas and hopefully these journaling  add ons are great assets to add to your paper stash!  So, I designed… (1) large tags (2) large tags- set 2 and (3) a mini envelope and liner (4) journaling papers resized (5) vintage mini ephemera neutral tags.    (Any watermarks are removed in the downloads.). Let me know what you think about these designs in the comments section below, if you have time.  Your feedback is appreciated.

I designed these images in Photoshop CC which is an awesome photo editing program and can handle these large image files quite easily.  (That’s part of the reason I subscribed to the CC version as soon as I was able.)  Photoshop Elements is great software program to get started with photo editing and crafting as well but does have some limitations.

Your printing results will vary depending on the type of printer you have, as a general rule the higher the dpi that your printer can  print, the clearer your images will be.  You can always take them to the nearest Office Depot or Staples (here in the US) to get higher quality printing if you are using these for a special journaling project.

I hope this freebie  inspires you in your crafting, art journaling, junk journaling  and/or scrapbooking time with today’s vintage freebie.

Time Sensitive Offer…

I also would like to mention that Creative Fabrica  (a great graphic resource site and my go to site for many modern graphics and svgs) has ended their July sale but they have a whole new promotion to prepare for Halloween crafting.  They are offering a host of freebies and giveaways, so if you are interested don’t forget to get in on the fun. Also,  Adobe Photoshop is running a huge Back to School Sale  subscription with up to 60% off for Teachers and Students.  You can check the Adobe image on my sidebar to get more details.  This offer will end Sept. 5, 2022.

Pale Violet Iris Journaling Add Ons Design Inspiration

I am totally enjoying designing these projects.  I  am always excited to develop new ideas for  tags  and now papers with a vintage ephemera look for either scrapbooking, art journaling, junk journaling and other paper crafting use.  I am trying to provide a few of these vintage printables more frequently.

If you are not into junk or art journaling, you can also pop these into the pockets of A5 planners or Traveler’s Notebooks if you enjoy a vintage aesthetic, as I do.

Today’s freebie has a lot of source vintage ephemera images from  vintage Photoshop brushes (many that I am designing), ledger entries script, ledger papers,  vintage botanical images I have scanned and other sources of vintage ephemera digital items, some sourced from books published in the 1800s!  Each design requires different Photoshop skill sets, so I enjoy the process and challenge of designing these images, tags and other shapes.

Facts about the Vintage Ephemera  Journaling Add Ons Freebie

As for the details about the freebie, there are 5 journaling options in this printable.    You can use these elements for journaling in your traveler’s notebook projects, smashbooks, junk journals or other types of memory keeping.  This printable is for diy crafts but, of course, can be used in your journals.

This free printable has 5 journaling printables at 8.5″ by 11″ with assorted add-ons to coordinate or match with the original shabby chic rose  papers I released.   These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be clear and sharp.  They can be used in either the Silhouette Cameo or Cricut digital cutters to cut them out or you can use scissors and a slide cutter.  You don’t absolutely need a digital cutter to print, cut and assemble your projects but they’re great tools!

Color theme: red violet, periwinkle, moss green, light green

The materials I used were vintage  ephemera scanned at a very high resolution and other high quality vintage digital resources.

**Please note, although I used  public domain resources to create this design, the design is under my copyright.**

Materials Needed

*White cardstock or white sticker paper, depending on your final use.  You might consider white matte photo paper as I have included photo images in the journaling cards printable. Other journaling crafters have mentioned Southworth linen/cotton paper for printing journaling papers to get that almost cloth like texture for your paper.

*Vintage inks, such as Tim Holtz  Distress Inkpads, to give the edges a worn, tinted or aged look, if that is your preference.  This process takes off the white edge (distresses) of the journaling cards and journaling spots, if you are using them for junk journaling and gives the paper a subtle, aged and worn  look.  With these inks you control the amount of tinting and color you prefer on your edges.

*Scissors or slide cutter

*Photo editing software (i.e., Photoshop Elements or Photoshop ) for jpeg files or Silhouette or other digital cutters’ software.

How to Use this Pale Violet Iris Journaling  Papers Printables

  • Print and cut out the papers and use them as add on items  for your junk journals, traveler’s notebooks and other planners.  Watermark is removed on actual downloads.

Free Slim Traveler’s Notebook Inserts Printable

This post may contain affiliate links. I may receive a commission, at no cost to you, when you choose to use the links provided. See the Disclosure Policy for more information.

traveler's notebook on desktop

Hello peeps! Today, I am excited to release a new “freebie” printable that I designed that has planner stickers and planner inserts that will fit Traveler’s Notebooks or other  planners. This is a whole new size and because of the  scale of the stickers I have changed the layout to 5.5″ x 8.5″.

This will allow me to provide more stickers in the future to accommodate Cricut users as well as Silhouette digital cutter users.  Silhouette owners can place two of the printables on one full page of sticker paper so no space is wasted.

A Few Notes About the Traveler’s Notebook Stickers

If you are a Filofax fan or owner of a personal planner, you will be  able to use this printable as well.  However, the planner stickers are styled more for art journaling, faith journaling or  pocket scrapbooking.

Please note:  These stickers will fit in a Traveler’s Notebook  which can accommodate filler sheets or inserts  with a  layout that are sized at 4.33″  x  8.25″ or 127 mm x 210mm.  This traditional layout is taller and narrower almost the size of your standard No. 10 envelope.

They should also work in A5 type of planners.  Remember these stickers are much smaller than my usual Erin Condren or Happy Planner stickers!

These planner stickers are specifically designed for fans of the  Traveler’s Notebook or similar smaller personal sized  weekly planners such as the Franklin Covey or Filofax.   If you’re not familiar with a Traveler’s Notebook, it’s basically a leather cover with elastic bands that you can fill with multiple notebook inserts according to your desire.  The interior pages are sized at 4.33″ by 8.25″. There are also smaller traveler’s notebooks than these.

Traveler’s Notebook Accessories

I recently purchased a brown Traveler’s Notebook and inserts which  is similar to the original Midori Traveler’s notebook.  It came with the notebook, three notebook inserts with blank, ruled and grid paper, two bands, clear credit card insert, a pen holder, a pen and a  skeleton clip.  What I like about these type of planners are the variety of inserts that one can use to give this slimmer planner the functionality of a portable wallet.

As for inserts, Freckled Fawn now carries a 3″ x 8″ Pocket Page Scrapbook Insert for the Traveler’s Notebook which allows you to place your favorite 3″ x 4″ pocket cards or photos in the insert.

The Midori Traveler’s notebook line  also comes in a variety of sizes, so you have several choices.

I also  own, this pretty  pink one by Webster’s Pages.

traveler's notebook planner, Webster's Pages

The original brand for the cover is called a Midori  other versions are sometimes referred to as a Fauxdori or Traveler’s Notebook (TN).  Etsy has several shops where these Midori style  notebooks are sold.

The functional planner stickers, especially the full  box stickers,  are sized to fit small planner inserts that range around 4″  to 5″ across . These new planner inserts are sized at 2.5″ by 7.75″ which gives you a 1 1/2″ margin on a 4 inch wide page.   The scale of these stickers are small enough for the mini happy planner by Mambi as well.  However, the style of the stickers will be geared more for art journaling and memory keeping.

Also, if you are new to this site, I wanted to let you know  that I have a board on Pinterest  that  you might want to follow that has several pins (ideas) by other planner designers, stationery, home office decor,  office supplies and planner freebies that are mostly planner related, you can view that and/or follow here,  Home Office | Planners & Stationery Favs.

There are 21+ planner stickers or  elements total in today’s release.     As always, these stickers and elements  can either be used for  journaling in your project life projects,  art journals or other types of memory keeping and papercrafting but these were made specifically for Traveler’s Notebook fans.

Note**Please see my Terms of Use below before downloading if you have not to been to this site before.**

How to Use this “Traveler’s Notebook Inserts” Printable:

There are several ways you can use this printable to create your stickers and I have included a few in the following instructions:

1) The easiest way to use this printout  is to print it out on a full sheet of white sticker paper and if you own a Silhouette Cameo or Silhouette Portrait or other digital cutter you can cut out the to-do lists or planner stickers using their designer software. ( **Please note:  You must have the Silhouette Designer Edition software upgrade to open pdfs in your Silhouette.

2) Also another method,  would be to use heavy bond printer paper or you can use 65 lb. white cardstock depending on how thick you want your sticker  and then place adhesive via a snail tape runner or with a Xyron sticker tool or machine.

3) The most tedious  (or time consuming) way is to print out the planner stickers on sticker paper and “fussy cut” out by hand, I have spaced the elements so that you can use a pair of good craft scissors to get a clean cut and handle the fussy cutting.  Another handy tool to have for the straight cuts is a slide or rotary paper trimmer which will reduce cutting around the stickers.

Facts about the freebie:

  • A set of  21+ planner stickers on an 5.5″ x 8.5″ jpeg file.
  • A set of traveler’s notebook planner inserts on a 8.5″ by 11″ page.
  • File size : 1.1 MB, 1.4 MB
  • These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp with a smooth lay down of the ink color.  The preview pictures both on the blog and on Google are at 72 dpi, so you often can not see all the detail accurately or colors are sometimes distorted.
  • Color scheme: light orange, light purple, blue

As usual these freebies are free for personal use, (check my TOU if you haven’t previously.)  If you have been here before, you know the drill.  If not, you might want to read the quick  TOU below before you access the printable.
