Hello, blog followers and visitors! Today’s release is in honor of all the fathers and Papa’s to be. Since Father’s Day is around the corner, I wanted to release these vintage gift envelopes for that last minute little gift (of money?) for your favorite guy.
As for the details about today’s freebie, there are 3 different patterns on the envelopes I have provided. They were selected because they reminded me of different men in my life (no this is not a Hollywood tell all ), I was thinking of schematics because they remind me of my brother when he was in college studying for his architect degree. He had all the pencils, compasses, rulers, brushes etc. on his drafting desk as he completed his homework, as his little sister I got to earn a little money cleaning up his desk for him. (Lol)
In any case, architectural blueprints were the items I had to neatly roll up and put away for him at the end of his study session. So, I thought it was appropriate to provide you with schematics drawings and one pattern that looks a little like a blueprint.
The other pattern reminds me of my grandfather ( born in 1898) who wore a hat (a fedora) every time he went out in public until he passed away many years ago. I remember he also used to shave with a shaving brush and soap everyday and never changed his routine. So, there is a little insight into my personal story and the inspiration behind the designs. In any case, I wish you all a Happy Father’s Day! I hope you like these printables! ( Drop me a comment of your favorite moment with your Dad, if you have the time.)
Although these vintage gift envelopes are meant for gifting, as always, they can either be used for journaling in your project life projects, smashbooks, art journals or other types of paper crafts.
Facts about the Vintage Gift Envelopes freebie:
- This free printable has gift envelopes on three 8 1/2″ by 11″ jpeg files.
- The file sizes are 2.8MB, 3.1 MB and 1.8MB
- Size of folded envelope is approximately 4.1/2″ by 2 1/4″ (ideal for money or gift card)
- These elements were created at 300 dpi, so your printing results should be very clear and sharp with a smooth lay down of the ink color. The preview pictures both on the blog and on Google are at 72 dpi, so you often can not see all the detail accurately or colors are often distorted. I used 300 dpi images for the roses.
- Color scheme: black, red, blue
Materials and Supplies
- White cardstock (ideally print on cardstock so that you can get a crisp fold on the tabs)
- Scissors or digital cutter
*Printing tip: Make sure your ink in your printer is at a reasonable level before printing. Keep the aspect ratio or print size at 8 1/2 by 11″.

Most of my elements are made from commercial use or public domain sources, however if any designer feels their copyright has been infringed upon the freebie will promptly be removed and the freebie will no longer be available. Designers vary in their restrictions for their terms of use (even for CU items), so although I try to be scrupulous, I may miss some. Schematics images from Photoshop set found on DeviantArt.
