Free Printable Download – Whimsical II Project Life Journaling Cards

whimsical-journaling-cards-header

Hello…and I hope you had a great weekend and you are ready for Part 2 of my whimsical journaling cards and elements. I have stepped away from my vintage theme and attempted a journaling card design with plenty of contrast.   The color scheme?  Why, black, white and red, of course!

As for the details about the freebie, there are four journaling cards plus a few elements and they can either be used for journaling in your project life projects or other type of memory keeping.   This free printable has 16 elements on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ pdf file.  The file size is about 1.34 MB.  They were created at 300 dpi and I designed most of the clip art and other elements other than a few images of washi tape.  I have also included a little extra word art snippets and that’s why there are more elements.  They will coordinate with my first whimsical set. (The link is at the bottom of the blog post.)

I’d like to say thanks for all those taking the time to comment, I sure appreciate the gracious “thank yous” and the legitimate “link love”.  I have been getting views from all over the world.

I am honored to be part of your re-pins on your Pinterest boards in the ranks with other much more established designers.  I just can’t thank you enough! If you can take time out of your busy day, I appreciate your constructive feedback.  I have been super busy, and have been acquiring all kinds of new craftingtools that I want to share with you, maybe in the near future.

As usual these freebies are free for personal use, (check my TOU if you haven’t previously.) If you have been here before, you know the drill.  If not, you might want to read the quick TOU before you access the printable.

Free Digital Embellishments – Vintage Brads

blue-brads-header

There is nothing so cool and refreshing like the color blue, and in this hot weather that we are currently experiencing in So Cal, I thought I would switch to a new color scheme.  The color of the sky, the ocean and your backyard pool…Aaaah!…I am cooling down already.

As for the specific color scheme, I went for a light, turquoise blue (or Tiffany Blue), grey and white, another of my color favorites.  So, this time I got a little over ambitious in designing these elements, and I am including up to six digital elements. I believe,  I am getting a little faster at designing these elements so that is why I had quite a few available. (I guess that means my skills are improving.)

As for the elements, they are approximately from  1″ to 2″  in size  and have been designed at 300 dpi.  The two brads are only 1/2″ in diameter.    All my elements are saved at  a printable  high resolution of 300 dpi, and are stored on my Photobucket account,  images on my blog are usually at 72dpi to 100 dpi resolution.  I’m sorry for making you go through the extra work to examine the items; however, I am trying to discourage copying of my images without credit due.  I appreciate the good sports who have credited me on their Pinterest boards and Facebook accounts, this kind of sharing is always encouraged!;)

So… here are today’s digital embellishments on a button card.  And to access the elements, you will need to click on the jpeg’s below to access the .png files on Photobucket.

Free Digital Embellishments – Gold Vintage Crown Charms

Crown-charms-header1

With all the good news about babies and royalty in the news, I thought I would create my own celebration of kings and queens by providing some free vintage crowns.  This is my newest foray into designing realistic looking metal elements and I hoped I accomplished that goal with this set of vintage pressed metal golden charms.

The source for the vintage postcards is from a fabulous collection on Flickr’s Creative Commons section managed by Chicks57.  These were my favorite, but she had several beautiful french vintage postcards of little girls with various shabby chic elements such as roses, wings, decorative props, and so forth.

As for the color scheme, I went for pink and gold, another of my color favorites.  So this time, I am including three vintage metal crowns.  They are approximately 1″ to 1.5″ large and have been designed at 300 dpi.    All my elements are saved at this high resolution, and stored on my Photobucket account,  images on my blog are usually at 72dpi to 100 dpi resolution.  I’m sorry for making you go through the extra work to examine the items; however, I am trying to discourage copying of my images without credit due.

Whimsical Project Life Journaling Cards – Free Printable

Strawberry-header

One of my favorite things about summer is the abundance of strawberries.  Here in Southern California, there are plenty of roadside farmer’s markets selling big, juicy strawberries as well as other summer fruits.  And I have been taking advantage of all that delicious bounty as much as I can.  I guess all those dreams and strawberry picking, contributed to today’s  journaling cards freebie printable  which is geared for a “girly” project life or other type of scrapbooking layout.

I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist the whimsical fairy and the color scheme that is so reminiscent of the now vintage (and collectible I might add) “Strawberry Shortcake”, hopefully without overdoing the theme and the color scheme.  I tried to keep it simple and concentrated on small details. Here’s a picture of a Strawberry Shortcake necklace, in case you are not old enough to remember who the popular character was.  I found this little treasure in a small tin which my dear grandmother used to keep some of her sewing items in.

Back to the freebie, there are four journaling cards plus a few elements and they can either be used for journaling in your project life projects or other type of memory keeping.   This free printable has 12 elements on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ pdf file.  The file size is about 3.42 MB.  They were created at 300 dpi and I designed most of the clip art and other elements other than the fairy which was designed by a talented designer named Pathy Santos.  I’m still trying to perfect my doodles.

Interestingly enough, as I post this, Becky Higgins (the original creator of Project Life) has just revealed that they are now providing a digital shop for her resources.  And for those, who don’t know how to use Photoshop Elements, or other photo editing software, she is making her resources available on….you guessed it– .pdf downloads.  The new site is called “Digital Project Life“, you can read all about it on her blog on the link provided.

(Update: Just to clarify…I included the news about Becky Higgins and her blog above because the news was so hot off the press.  If you have a Pinterest account, you probably have noticed that there are many traditional, digital and hybrid scrapbooker’s boards that include several printable pocketbook or “Project Life” downloads created by different designers.  I was merely commenting on her company setting up a digital scrapbooking resource wing for all the fans of her “Project Life” materials.  I just want to make it clear and not imply that she is endorsing me or any of my work in any way, I was merely providing information to my readers that are already beginning or attempting to begin to do their own digital journey in the world of digital scrapbooking and using those skills and materials on their traditional tangible, physical scrapbooking layouts.)

Thanks for all those taking the time to comment, I sure appreciate the gracious thank yous and the legitimate “link love”.  I am honored to be part of your re-pins on your Pinterest boards in the ranks with other much more established designers.  I just can’t thank you enough! If you can take time out of your busy day, I appreciate your constructive feedback.

Free Digital Embellishments – Shabby Chic Brads

Shabby-Chic-brads-header

Well, the week has flown by, and the weekend is rolling in… I hope you find some time for crafting ( of all kinds) and time for your family and other pursuits. Yes, it’s shabby chic time again.  I am  back to a vintagey, shabby chic theme, the tried and true seafoam green, shabby chic pink and peach color scheme. I also have a few other color schemes in mind but if you are asking why I have been sticking to this one…is there a method to my madness?  Yes, there is because if you come back each time, you will pretty much be able to collect a coordinated mini kit!

So, as before with  this color scheme  there are so many variations and patterns to work with and it gives me a chance to try out a few different designing techniques.  So this time, I am including a couple of  1.5″ brads and three pieces (approximately 3.5″ wide and .75″ tall) of shabby chic washi tape at 80% opacity.  All these elements were created at a high resolution of 300 dpi.

If you have visited this blog before you will know that, I really like paper crafts with a vintage or retro theme .  Although, I often create whimsical elements as well.

So… here are this week’s digital embellishments on a button card.  And you will need to click on the jpeg’s below to access the .png files on Photobucket.

Summertime-header

The summer heat is on… and you can’t craft without a few summer phrases that celebrate the warm, weather fun and outdoor activities.

I’m sticking to  a few of the summery colors  I have used before but this freebie has a lot more black and white.    This free printable has 12 elements, tiny 2″ by 2″ squares with summer fun phrases, on an 8 1/2″ by 11″ pdf file.   They were created at 300 dpi.

I have seen these cards used with project life layouts, but I think they are versatile enough to use with other paper crafts.    I hope you like them and enjoy them!  Thanks for all those taking the time to comment, I sure appreciate the gracious thank yous!

Free Digital Embellishments – Shabby Chic Felt Flowers

Shabby-Chic-felt-flowers-header

Well, the weekend is rolling in…and I hope you find some time for crafting and other heart healthy pursuits.  This time, I am resorting back to a vintagey, shabby chic theme. I went back to a seafoam green, shabby chic pink and peach color scheme.  Yes, you have seen this color scheme before; however, there are so many variations and patterns to work with, so, I am trying another layout.  I really like the creative aspect of it all.  This time, I am also including, a scrapbook layout idea, that came to mind as I was creating these flower embellishments.

I am also including some matching glitter brads (you’ll see “bling” sneaking into my designs often…I really like it…no, I would say love it)  that are about 1/2″ wide in diameter. The felt flowers are about 3″ wide.

If you have visited this blog before you will know that, I really like paper crafts with a vintage or retro theme and when a crafter combines sewing with paper crafting or digital scrapbooking…well, that just about does it for me.  I haven’t got the sewing styles & stitching technique quite where I want it, but you can expect to see it in  future layouts.

Here are my felt flower embellishments within my scrapbooking layout idea.

Here is the latest digital embellishment freebie, for your digital or hybrid crafting use.  These flair were made from the digital designs I released a couple of months of ago which seem to be pretty popular.  Thanks to all my visitors.

If you have visited this blog before you will know that, I really like the color scheme black, white and red. I created the original files in a pdf freebie.  So, I decided to create matching flair. They are created at 300 dpi and measure approximately 1″ in diameter (300 px by 300 px).   They are created for personal use only.

Just like the other embellishments I made,  I got so excited that I went beyond creating the embellishments and created the packaging as well…it’s getting pretty standard. Continue reading Free Digital Embellishments – Whimsical Flair
